India has got its mention quite from a very long period. Along with the mention, what flows together is long inherited culture. All this while it has undergone a long journey with never-ending destinations, but yet a journey to cherish for always. Along with the true facts that stick together are the ideologies of people that are yet defining themselves with each passing day.

India what everyone calls it but “Bharata” is what it actually is, got its name from the legendary “Bharat”. One about which the stories says played with tiger cubs, One who was blessed with powers, powers unbelievable yet believable that you fall for it.

Culture though we name it, Do we really know what it really means?? Is it really a long retained journey or just a belief to inherit. We have been living in a nutshell following what we always have been told. We have been holding the continuation without even questioning does it really exist. I suggest this is the time we wake up from our sleep & discover what it really means.

Indian Culture is an amalgamation of varied culture, spans across the Indian subcontinent and has been influenced by a history that is several millennia old. India's languages, religions, dance, music, architecture, food, and customs differ from place to place within the country. Indian culture has been heavily influenced by Dharmic religions. They have been credited with shaping much of Indian philosophy, literature, architecture, art, and music. India is land of origin to Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism & other religions, collectively known as Indian religions. Foreign-origin religion such as Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, etc also contributes to a major fraction of the population of India.

Indian philosophy comprises the philosophical traditions of the Indian subcontinent. There are six schools of orthodox Hindu philosophy (Also called as Shatdarshanas)-Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Sankhya, Yoga, Purva Mimamsa & Uttara Mimamsa (Vedanta) & four heterodox schools-Jain, Buddhist, Ajivika & Carvaka-last two are also schools of Hinduism. These are those that accept the Vedas as an authoritative, important source of knowledge. But with the passage of time, some of these school of orthodox Hindu philosophy failed to survive.

For generations, India has a prevailing system of joint families. People live together in a joint extended family. The eldest member of the family serves as the head of the family but this also has failed with the passage of time. People chose to live in a nuclear family instead of a joint family.

India, being a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic & multi-religious society, celebrates holidays & festivals of various religions. Hinduism, being the largest followed religion in India. Islam, being the second largest followed religion. Christianity, being the third largest religion. Other religion forms the remaining population of India. Indian greetings are based on Anjali Mudra, including Pranama & Puja. Indian Culture is also well impacted by the varied & rich wildlife it holds. Multiple of scripts, designs, attires are inspired by wildlife. Indian food is as diverse as India. A tint of culture is all visible to Indian food as well. Wide range of food preparation styles, cooking techniques & culinary preparation from all different states shows the flavor of the culture.

This rich heritage has lived & will live for all the years. Colors of India have brightened throughout all these years and are still blooming. Guess all this suggest it is a long retained journey but at the same, it is a belief to inherit.
